Short-Stay Holiday Apartments on the Broadwater

Set in the Beenleigh Historical Village, this tragic historical narrative is retold by the descendants of those at the center of this story.

Spirits of the Red Sand tells the story of the effect that colonisation had on 1800’s Australia and the deprivation forced upon the Aboriginal people. Forced out of their traditional hunting grounds and faced with a choice to either starve or become dependant on the settlers for survival, we follow three brothers with opposing ideas of how to deal with this new threat.

With authentic sets and a captivating performance by each cast member, this thought-provoking reenactment offers an immersive experience unlike any other on the Gold Coast.

Following the storyteller throughout the the village, you’ll be led through the chapters of the story before arriving at the dining hall for a bush-tucker inspired feast as the cast take their final bow. You’ll enjoy the combination of traditional and modern food bursting with flavours native to Australia. We highly recommend the homemade lemon myrtle cheesecake as well as the damper and char-grilled kangaroo, emu and crocodile skewers.

Located halfway between the Gold Coast and Brisbane, it takes less than 30 minutes to get there, however the venue also offer a nightly return shuttle transfer to select hotels.
