Family Friendly Activities in Southport

Whether you’re looking for somewhere to relax with family or somewhere to explore and get a little more of a thrill, Aqualine Apartments on Southport’s Broadwater is the perfect place to stay.

Located within walking distance to many attractions and parks, the Broadwater parklands make for an unforgettable family holiday experience.

To get you started, we’ve put together a list of family friendly activities that both kids and parents are sure to love.

AbraKiDazzle – The Gold Coast’s largest indoor play arena for kids up to the age of 10 is a great place to get out of the sun for a few hours while allowing the kids to still run off some energy while the parents can enjoy the serenity of the cafe.

Holoverse – A world first hologram arcade using advanced technology to project objects that float around you creating an experience you’ll never forget. You can grab a pizza while you’re there and enjoy the arcade tables for an afternoon of fun new experiences.

Broadwater Parklands & Rock pools – Located less than a 10 minute walk from Aqualine Apartments, the Broadwater parklands offer a multitude of play equipment for everyone to enjoy, including a jumping pillow and pedal bike monorail that the kids absolutely love! If you’re visiting during the warmer months, the Rock pools make a great place to cool off after playing on the park and beach. Walking paths along the water make it super easy to get to and there are even a few cafes along the way to stop off for a bite to eat and a cold drink.

Escape Hunt – A game perfect for families with older kids who love to solve puzzles, work together to get out before the time is up!

Paradise Jet Boating – Take some time to head out on the water and enjoy the high speeds and sharp turns that get the blood pumping and put a smile on everyone’s faces.

Gold Coast Jet Ski Safaris – Take a tour of the Broadwater by getting as close to it as you can while staying (mostly) dry on a Jet Ski. After the tour, grab a bite to eat and enjoy basking in the afternoon sun.

Spirit Whale Watching – From June through to September, join the crew on Spirit of the Gold Coast to embark on a whale watching adventure. With a promise of guaranteed whale sightings or a free return trip, it entices everyone to get out on the open water to see nature up close and personal at its best.

Sea World – We certainly couldn’t leave this one off the list! Sea World is an amazing way to get up close with Polar Bears, Penguins, Sharks, Dolphins and more while enjoying shows, food and rides! We suggest the Glass Bottom Boat tour through Shark Bay. Not only will you learn a tonne about the species, but you’ll also get to see some massive sharks swim right underneath you, as well as a massive tortoise whose aging incredibly well!

We hope this list inspires you for your next holiday!
